Six by Nico Sets Ambitious Growth Plans

Six by Nico is a distinctive dining concept founded by chef Nico Simeone in 2017. Known for its innovative approach to fine dining, Six by Nico offers a unique six-course themed tasting menu that changes every six weeks.

This inventive format not only keeps the dining experience fresh and exciting but also challenges the culinary team to continuously craft creative and thematic dishes. Each menu is designed to transport diners to different places, memories, or even fairy tales, making each visit a novel experience.

Operating across multiple cities, the restaurant has established a strong following with its engaging approach to gastronomy, combining both quality and creativity at the forefront of its offerings.

Strategic Expansion and New Appointments at Six by Nico

Six Company, the parent company of the Six by Nico restaurant chain, has recently taken significant steps towards accelerating its growth both in the UK and internationally.

The company has engaged financial advisors from Cavendish to explore a range of strategic funding options to support this expansion.

Historically, Six Company has financed its growth through a combination of cash flow and loans from ThinCats, a strategy that has supported its development up to now.

As of the latest updates, Six Company operates 15 dedicated Six by Nico locations across the UK and Ireland, with a total of 20 establishments under its broader brand portfolio.

The brand continues to perform robustly in the market, a testament to its popular dining concept and operational excellence. This performance has prompted the leadership to pursue additional funding to further their expansion strategy.

A notable upcoming development is the launch of a new Six by Nico restaurant in Oxford’s Westgate scheme, scheduled to open on Wednesday, 22 May. Additionally, plans are underway to open another location in Edinburgh during the summer, which will be situated in Queensferry Street, formerly home to Foundry 39.

This expansion underscores the brand’s commitment to growing its presence and enhancing its reach within key urban markets.

Rob Wirszycz, Chairman of Six Company, shared insights into the operational philosophy of the brand, emphasizing the importance of a scalable and efficient format that accommodates 30 to 100 diners, features an open kitchen, and ensures a rapid dining turnover.

The recent openings in Birmingham, Leeds, and Cardiff have adopted a “grand dining room” concept, receiving positive customer feedback and are on track to achieve their investment return goals within a year.

Looking ahead, the company plans to consolidate and expand its market presence by doubling up in cities where it has already seen success, such as Manchester and Glasgow.

With a robust customer database exceeding 900,000 and a high demand for reservations, Six by Nico is poised for further growth.

The company is also introducing three new dining concepts in Glasgow: Somewhere by Nico, a bar with a changing menu; Valaria, a brunch café; and Sole Club, a gourmet fish restaurant with a speakeasy vibe.

These ventures are set to offer existing customers varied new dining experiences, starting with promising early interest shown for Somewhere by Nico, which is already fully booked for its initial eight weeks.
