Revolution Bars Group Announces Strategic Focus Through FY27, Eyeing Expansion Post-Restructuring

Revolution Bars Group, the powerhouse behind popular brands such as Revolution, Revolución de Cuba, and Peach Pubs, has recently detailed its strategic direction for the upcoming three fiscal years.

The strategy involves a temporary halt on expansion to focus on internal restructuring and market consolidation, with plans to resume growth in FY27. This decision follows a successful £12.5 million fundraising effort and is contingent upon the successful implementation of the company’s restructuring plan.

In a communication to its shareholders, the company, under the leadership of CEO Rob Pitcher, revealed its optimism for future growth based on strong guest and brand metrics.

The company is set to benefit from favorable market conditions, improved consumer confidence, and a reduction in inflation rates. These factors are expected to form a solid foundation for the recovery and growth of the business.

Management has expressed confidence in leveraging their extensive industry experience to foster medium-term growth through improvements in like-for-like revenue and the strategic expansion of their portfolio.

Key initiatives for FY25 include the execution of the restructuring plan, optimizing the trading estate, and safeguarding the company’s liquidity. Furthermore, there will be a continued effort to upscale the offerings at Peach Pubs and enhance the entertainment value and brand strength of Revolución de Cuba.

FY26 will see the initiation of a five-year investment cycle for the group’s bars, aiming for a return on capital employed (ROCE) of 50% at refurbished sites. Similarly, a seven to eight-year investment cycle will commence for the pubs, with the same ROCE target.

The year will also be marked by scouting new site acquisition opportunities for Peach and Revolución de Cuba brands.

By FY27, the group plans to kickstart an expansion drive focusing primarily on the Peach, Founders & Co, and Revolución de Cuba brands, capitalizing on their strong market propositions.

Peach Pubs is currently exploring substantial investment opportunities in the leasehold food-led pub sector in affluent locations like Winchester, Bristol, and Brighton. These sites are expected to generate significant EBITDA, with considerable capital expenditure backed in part by landlords.

Founders & Co is set to build on the success of its initial site in Swansea, with advanced plans for a new location in Sheffield. This expansion aligns with the group’s objective to achieve a broad footprint across the UK, provided sufficient funding is secured.

Meanwhile, Revolución de Cuba is poised to increase its presence in the UK, with potential expansions in London, Brighton, and Edinburgh. The brand also explores the possibility of converting existing Revolution Bars locations into Revolución de Cuba sites, thereby optimizing initial capital expenditures.

As Revolution Bars Group navigates through these strategic phases, it remains committed to enhancing its market presence and delivering exceptional value to its patrons and stakeholders.
